About this guide site
Effective date: 9 October 2026
These site rules explain how this independent visitor guide works, what applies when you walk into Cowboys Casino at 421 12 Avenue SE, and where to find online play information that lives only on this guide. Floor policies below come from the official casino site. They are summarized here for orientation, not as a substitute for cowboyscasino.ca. How this guide handles your personal data is on the your data page.
About this guide site
This website is an independent visitor guide to Cowboys Casino in downtown Calgary. It is not cowboyscasino.ca, and it is not operated by the casino. We publish orientation content — hours, entry rules, floor overviews, dining, events, and practical answers — so you can plan a visit without treating a third-party blog as fact.
Floor facts on this guide trace to the official casino site. Live promotions, bookings, menus, and policy updates may change there before we revise a page. When numbers or hours matter for your night out, confirm on the official casino site or call (403) 514-0900.
This guide does not process casino payments or hold player funds. Winner's Edge at winnersedge.ca is linked from the official site footer as a floor loyalty programme. We do not reproduce programme rules from that domain. For event dates, see the Calgary nights calendar. For parking, ID, and bags, see the straight answers page.
Entry, age, and identification
Cowboys Casino admits guests who are 18 years of age or older. Security checks valid government-issued photo ID at entry. You must present the original document. Photocopies and photos of ID on a phone are not accepted.
Your ID must include all of the following: a photo, your full legal name, a unique ID number, your date of birth, and a valid expiration date. Every adult in your group needs their own ID, not only the person driving or paying. If anyone in your party is close to 18, confirm eligibility before you leave home.
These rules apply at the door downtown. They are separate from any account or verification process on the Cowboys Casino online page on this guide. Step-by-step entry flow, coat check routing, and first-hour timing sit on the parkade-to-pit guide.
Dress code and conduct
Dress code is enforced at entry and on the gaming floor. Avoid clothing with profanity or offensive imagery. Do not wear anything that reveals private areas. Security may refuse entry based on dress alone. There is no formal jacket-and-tie requirement for a typical evening downtown, but security decisions at the door are final.
Cowboys Casino operates a zero-tolerance policy for abusive, aggressive, or discriminatory language and behaviour. Staff may deny service or remove a guest who breaks that standard, regardless of attire. Conduct rules apply in the casino, at Centre Bar, in the Sports Lounge, and in partner venues inside the building.
Practical dress and behaviour context for a first visit is on the parkade-to-pit guide.
Bags, coat check, and security
Backpacks are not permitted on the casino floor. Mid-to-large bags must be checked at coat check at Guest Services near entry. Coat check is complimentary.
Security may inspect any bag, including purses, before or during your visit. Refusal to comply with a bag inspection may result in denied entry. Plan to drop bags before you head for slots or tables.
Lost and found contacts depend on where you were in the building. For the casino floor and Centre Bar, email info@cowboyscasino.ca. For Hitman's Bar, email info@hitmansbar.com. For Melrose and Second Son, email event@melrosecalgary.com. Allow up to 72 hours for a response. On weekends and busy periods, replies may arrive the next business day.
Cowboys Casino is not responsible for lost or stolen items. Report losses promptly to the contact that matches the area where you believe the item was left.
Hours, parking, and getting here
The casino building opens daily from 9:30 am to 5 am. Individual gaming areas run on different clocks. Slots are available daily from 10 am to 5 am. Table games open daily from 12 pm to 3 am. The craps table operates Wednesday through Saturday from 7 pm to 3 am only. The poker room is open 24 hours a day. Hours for individual venues and amenities inside the casino may vary. Check the official casino site or the bars and bites page before you plan around a meal or bar stop.
Cowboys Casino offers free heated underground parking for casino and venue guests. Maximum clearance is 6 feet 1 inch. Measure vehicle height including racks or toppers before you enter. If it is unsafe to drive home, vehicles may remain in the parkade overnight. Pick up within 24 hours, or call (403) 514-0900 and notify security with your expected pickup time for a longer stay.
The address is 421 12 Avenue SE, Calgary, AB T2G 1A5, in downtown Calgary, steps from Stampede Park and Calgary's Entertainment District. The property is within walking distance of Victoria Park C-Train station, the BMO Centre, and the Scotiabank Saddledome. Reachable by car and public transit.
Active food and drink venues on the official site include Centre Bar, the Sports Lounge, Hitman's Bar, Melrose, and Second Son. The FAQ loyalty answer on the official site references Senior Social for guests 55 and older. Schedule and detail for Senior Social sit on the Calgary nights calendar and the official casino site.
Parking diagrams, ID checkpoints, and evening tracks from parkade to pit are on the parkade-to-pit guide.
Privacy and personal information at the casino

Charitable gaming and community role
Cowboys Casino operates under a Charitable Gaming Casino Licence administered by the Alberta Gaming, Liquor and Cannabis. Charity casino events at the property typically run over two consecutive days. Non-profit groups staff events and direct proceeds to registered Alberta charities.
On the official community involvement page, Cowboys Casino reports 182 charities supported in 2025, $14,998,721 in charitable revenue in 2024, and 6,552 volunteer opportunities in 2025. Provincial context on the same page states that in 2024–2025 more than 23,000 licences raised over $422.8 million across Alberta, with 67.6% of those funds raised by casino events.
Charitable gaming explains why the downtown floor exists as a licensed venue. It does not change entry rules, ID requirements, or hours for a standard visit. Bookings and group events go through the official casino site.
Property updates
A site-wide announcement on cowboyscasino.ca states that the property will be rebranded in the coming months. The casino remains open and operating as usual during that transition. Do not rely on this guide for a new brand name until the official site publishes one.
Cowboys Dance Hall, located within Cowboys Casino, has closed. Penny Lane Entertainment has decided to focus on other areas of their business. Do not plan visits or bookings around Dance Hall programming. Partner venues still active on the official site include Centre Bar, the Sports Lounge, Hitman's Bar, Melrose, and Second Son. Menus and hours are on the bars and bites page and the official casino site.
